we sent the report to wee leong and was bounded back to us with some minor amendments. went to meet lee leong as there are some points that we do not understand. after which, we splited up the job according to our ‘expertise’ with kun rong coming out with points for the report, sean being the proof reader and me being the manual worker who does the formatting (although im not very good at it but i tried! =)) and also editing the report here and there.

now from just now 10+ till not almost 1230am, im still online doing the final final touch up of the report. waiting for everything to be in to me and i shall do the final formatting and tml shall be our report submission day!!!! yeah!!! i think the problem that we faced is true that our report is very straight forward to the extent that we have to make sure that our report is free from grammer error and formatting error in order to make our report looks complete.

 

problems faced when im doing the formatting of the report is that there are some areas that can be done easily by the formatting but i do not know how to do it so in the end i manage to done it in the long way,although it takes more time but nevertheless, i manage to get it done!!!

the final meeting that we will have before the submission of the FYP report. meet out with kun rong to discuss about final amendments to the report before submitting up.  the problems that we faced is that the formatting as i am not very good in formating, i may use more time as compare to others who knows how to use the format so that everything can be done easily. actually there is only minor touch up here and there.

today can be consider the last lap of the race and we are chionging for the final report, refine and touch up on the database. meet out with advisor to discuss about some of the issues over the presentation. learning how to use the edit the online database. we discuss about the writtings in the report. final touch up on the excel catalogue. basically touch everything. everything is finally ending soon especially with the database!!! all our hardwork in calling, database and everything!!

meet up with advisor for advise on what are the areas that we can continue and improve on. decided have to an interview with event security specialist so we had distributed the roles accordingly. as for me and choon hua will take care of the formation of the report and also coming out with the interview questions while kun rong and sean will take charge of the formation of the cataloging.

Purpose: finish up the calling of agency, find out the SIRD grading

As last week kun rong and i have already called half of the list of the security agencies, this week, it’s choon hua and sean’s turn to make the CALLS!!! then kun rong and i went to search for the SIRD gradings and fill in into one of the fields in the catalogue. we managed to finish calling all the companies after all the funny calls and getting all kinds of respone from the company. after that i went on to compile the all the catalogue and send it out to everyone.

Purpose: cold calling to all the security agencies

met kun rong in  school at 1 while choon hua was overseas and sean is not free. went to look for wee leong and went to borrow the mediatalk. waited for a while, loaned the laptop but the software cannot work. tried and tried but to no avail. after asking for some help, we went to the RPC to look for some guy who knows how to settle for help. after that we went to W6 to wee leong office to take the speaker. after all the waiting and solving and walking, we finally can start our calling at 2.30 which by then we have already lost all the enthu to call=x

it is really like telemarketing!!! luckily me and kun rong have some experience with telemarketing so it wasnt too different. i think the most difficult part is for us to lie!! wahahha. we have to come out with our own event company which we call it the drex events then we starting calling. most of them were rather helpful and explain what they are doing and i realised some of the security company has no longer work in the event security anymore but do not really have the chance to ask them why=(  we ended our meeting at 5 as we have to return the laptop before 5=)

today we got a free treat from our advisor, Wee Leong!!! wahahha… thank you!! we talked about what are the other areas that we can improve on our catalogue. discussed about our experience in the GOV WARE 2008 as there will be of help to us as you can do a case study on the security that the organisor has used. one of the problem now is that we need to find ways to call the list of security angency because there are hundreds of them and we can finding for ways to make free calls!! so we ask wee leong for help and he helped us by loaning the some software for us=)

after the lunch, went to the library to look for magazines regarding the police to find out about the SRID to get the security gradings.
